Collection: Modern Saunas

Modern saunas have straight walls, a flat roof and clean, contemporary lines that sit neatly in a modern garden. Choose from solid log builds in 44mm or 56mm Nordic spruce, or an insulated panel build, with dressing rooms, lounges, canopies and sauna and garden room combinations on selected models.

Every modern sauna is a flat-pack kit with a 5-year structural warranty and free mainland UK delivery. See the full outdoor sauna range.

Buying a modern outdoor sauna

Modern saunas have straight walls and a flat roof, giving full headroom across the room and clean lines that suit a contemporary garden. The format also leaves room for more than a steam room, so the whole ritual of heat, rest and cooling down can happen under one roof.

Three ways to build

  • Lagom, 44mm log: solid Nordic spruce logs that interlock at the corners, from a four-person steam room up to a sauna with its own garden room.
  • Ro, 56mm log: our thickest walls, for serious heat retention through a British winter, with a two-room model that adds a separate lounge.
  • Liekki, insulated panel: a foam-core panel build with a large tinted window and a separate front area for changing.

Choose your layout

  • Steam room only: Lagom Four-Person, also with an attached canopy, or Ro Four-Person.
  • With a dressing room or lounge: Lagom Four-Person with Dressing Room, with or without a canopy, or Ro Four-Person with Lounge.
  • Three rooms: Lagom Three-Person with Lounge: a steam room for three, a 1.9m² room for changing or a shower, and a 5.4m² lounge.
  • Sauna and garden room: Lagom Sauna & Garden Room: a steam room for three beside a 9.0m² garden room behind sliding doors, single-glazed on the Slide and double-glazed on the Slide Plus.

Browse by range: Lagom, Ro and Liekki.

Modern sauna FAQs

Modern or barrel sauna?

Choose a modern sauna if you want straight walls, full headroom and extra rooms, such as a place to change, a lounge or a garden room. Choose a barrel sauna if you want the most compact footprint and the classic curved look.

What are modern saunas built from?

Our Lagom saunas use 44mm interlocking Nordic spruce logs and our Ro saunas use 56mm log walls. Liekki uses an insulated panel system with a foam core and 16mm spruce interior cladding.

Can a sauna cabin double as a garden room?

Yes. Our Sauna & Garden Room models pair a steam room with a separate 9.0m² room behind sliding doors, which works as a lounge, studio or relaxation space all year.

Does a modern sauna need treating?

Treat the exterior timber with a protective finish as soon as assembly is complete, to maintain your investment. The manual gives full care guidance.

Do I need planning permission for a modern sauna?

Many garden buildings fall under permitted development, but larger cabins are more likely to need checking against the size, height and position limits. Our planning permission guide explains the rules.

How is a modern sauna delivered?

As a flat-pack self-build kit, with free delivery to mainland UK addresses and a 5-year structural warranty.
